TikTok Pasta Recipe (Original and Upgraded)

Description

Here is the original TikTok Pasta Recipe, as well as my upgraded TikTok Pasta Recipe!


Ingredients

For the original #FetaPasta recipe:

  • feta cheese (block feta cheese is ideal, OR crumbled feta is fine)
  • cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • minced garlic
  • fresh basil
  • desired amount/type of pasta, for cooking
  • salt and pepper

For the upgraded #FetaPasta recipe:

  • feta cheese (block feta cheese is ideal, OR crumbled feta is fine)
  • cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • minced garlic
  • fresh basil
  • ground Italian sausage (or ground beef/turkey/chicken) – any protein of choice. Shrimp would also be excellent
  • frozen chopped spinach (or fresh chopped spinach)
  • heavy whipping cream
  • desired amount/type of pasta, for cooking
  • parmesan cheese, for serving
  • salt and pepper

 


Instructions

For the original #FetaPasta recipe:

  1. Combine the cherry tomatoes, olive oil, and salt and pepper into a baking dish. Massage to combine.
  2. Next, add the block of feta cheese into the center of the baking dish, and repeat step one with your cheese.
  3. Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes.
  4. In the meantime, boil and drain your desired pasta of choice.
  5. After 35 minutes, stir to combine feta cheese and cherry tomatoes. Make sure to “burst” the cherry tomatoes with your spoon!
  6. Next, add fresh basil, minced garlic, and your cooked pasta of choice
  7. Stir to combine again.
  8. ENJOY!!!

For the upgraded #FetaPasta recipe:

  1. Combine the cherry tomatoes, olive oil, and salt and pepper into a baking dish. Massage to combine.
  2. Next, add the block of feta cheese into the center of the baking dish, and repeat step one with your cheese.
  3. Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes.
  4. In the meantime, boil and drain your desired pasta of choice.
  5. While pasta is boiling (and tomatoes/feta are baking), cook your desired protein on the stove, and warm your frozen spinach in the microwave. (You can also use fresh chopped spinach and add it to your protein while cooking.)
  6. Drain your protein if it is fatty (ie sausage or ground beef). Set aside.  
  7. After 35 minutes, stir to combine feta cheese and cherry tomatoes. 
  8. Set oven to “BROIL”. Broil feta cheese and cherry tomatoes for 5 minutes. DO NOT BURN.
  9. After 5 minutes, remove from oven. Make sure to “burst” the cherry tomatoes with your spoon at this stage!
  10. Cancel “broil” and change oven temp back to 400 degrees.
  11. Next, add fresh basil, minced garlic, your chosen protein, chopped spinach, and your cooked pasta of choice to the mixture.
  12. Add the appropriate amount of heavy whipping cream to re-moisten your pasta. (It took about 3/4 cup of heavy cream for me to achieve the correct consistency.)
  13. Stir to combine again. Cook in your 400 degree oven for 5 minutes, to meld all of the flavors, and remove.
  14. Top with freshly-shaved parmesan cheese.
  15. ENJOY!!!
